Waterworld lake activities
The Sun City lake is a man-made lake in an ancient volcanic crater. Here Sun City visitors can sign up for a multitude of water sports at Waterworld or enjoy the view from a picnic blanket on the lawns or the restaurant on the lake.
Waterworld caters for people of all skill levels and they’re open seven days a week. There’s no excuse not to try something new on your Sun City holiday and why not make it tubing or riding a wake-snake? With these, you just hold on while your tube or pencil-shaped pontoon gets dragged behind a boat. Up to five people can do the wake-snake together.
Have you tried parasailing? After a short pull you are lifted into the air, to a height of about 35 meters and experience an exhilarating flight around the lake before landing gently into the water. Two people can also do a double parasail. If heights aren’t your thing, you can also opt for jet skiing, wake boarding or water skiing.
If all this sounds too extreme and you’re looking for an opportunity to experience nature or a relaxing afternoon on the lake, opt for the cruise boat. The large cruise boat, Tsala, departs twice daily at 12:00 and 16:30 for a 30-minute trip around the lake. Unwind further at the restaurant or dig for treasure at the scratch patch. What you find you can keep!
Kids and teenagers love the bumper boats at Waterworld. It’s the same idea as bumper cars, except these doughnut-shaped boats absorb more impact and it’s much more fun on water! Other activities at Waterworld include family boats, 18-hole mini golf and mini-car rides for kids.

Pilanesberg: Into the Wild
Brave the great outdoors with game drives in the Pilanesberg National Park on a game drive vehicle. We also arrange exclusive safaris that include beverages, snacks and a hat and shirt to take home as souvenirs. This safari can be coupled with a bush braai or breakfast. Private game drives are also an option. You can spot elephants, rhinos, various buck, hyenas, cheetahs, lions and various other smaller animals and birds at Pilanesberg.
If you enjoy walking in nature, there are guided hiking trails to explore and you get to learn about the environment from an expert guide.
Hot air balloon rides are a thrill, a remnant of a long-gone era. Rediscover the fun at your next visit to Sun City. Get picked up at your hotel, drift over the park for an hour in a hot air balloon, enjoy a sparkling wine celebration when landing followed by an English breakfast and receive a signed "first flight" certificate from the pilot before being taken back to your hotel. It’s a great day out.
